This property carries a lot of risk and is a lot of work so it’s only really an option for us if we can get it at a good price. At its current price, a plot of land and a new build would be more appealing. We don’t really want an apartment and there’s not a lot on the market that meets our requirements or floats our boat. We did think about buying something short term but it looks like purchase costs including notary’s fees, taxes etc. amount to around 7% (!!) when you purchase and agent’s fees are around 6% (gulp!!) on the sale not to mention any capital gains tax. If we’re investing in something, it needs to be right and it needs to be for the long term.
We’ll give our offer a go and because it has been on the market for a long time hopefully they’ll at least consider it
